Services Provided: Preparation of a standalone Waste Management Plan and a separate Waste Management sub-plan for the Wynyard Walk CEMP.
Transport for New South Wales required a Waste Management Plan as a Condition of Approval in order to commence construction of the pedestrian link between Wynyard station and Barangaroo. KMH worked with Thiess to prepare a detailed Waste Management Plan (WMP) for the three stages on-works packages which included demolition, construction, and major tunnelling works. KMH worked with the project engineers and demolition contractors to prepare an accurate inventory of potential waste materials to be generated on the project and investigated sustainable and viable solutions for these waste materials. This inventory of potential waste material was used to address the conditions of approval and requirements including measures to meet them and then incorporated into a full WMP. Additional work included extracting information from the WMP to prepare a waste management sub-plan for the CEMP for stage one of the construction works. The WMP will enable Thiess to extract the information for the CEMP that are developed for stages two and three of the project, saving them time and cost on the project as it progresses.
