gunnedahleather-460x210

Client: Gunnedah Leather & Adelaide Processors

Location: New South Wales and South Australia

Services Provided:  Strategic Options Assessment,

Project details:
KMH was engaged to provide an expert wastewater treatment review at two tanneries at Gunnedah, NSW and in Adelaide, SA. Gunnedah Leather processes fresh cattle hides and Adelaide Processors processes kangaroo hides.  The clients commissioned these studies to set their strategic objectives for the future; proactively searching for long-term sustainable solutions to treatment and re-use of wastewater, and addressing any potential odours at these tannery sites.  In order to fully understand the relevant issues, KMH carried out a full site investigation, and used the information gathered to evaluate suitable options for each site. This evaluation was presented to the client, with discussion of the benefits and challenges of several options for different process streams. This summary document gave the client an improved understanding of the options available to them, allowing them to make an informed decision on the best way to proceed. The clients are pursuing various options as an outcome of KMH’s options assessment.
