Project Details:
The Sydney Opera House Vehicle Access and Pedestrian Safety Project involves construction of a new underground loading dock below the Sydney Opera House building, construction of a ramped access tunnel to the dock, new lift shafts to the loading dock and re-levelling the existing sunken kerbed roadway on the Forecourt. The Project was conceived to address the long standing objective of the Sydney Opera House Trust (the Proponent) to create separation between the heavy vehicles traffic (required to provide the functional operation of the Opera House) from the pedestrian traffic on the Forecourt of the Sydney Opera House. KMH’s role was to manage the delivery of the Project’s environmental approvals which included the development and submission of the CEMP, all relevant Sub Plans and an application for an Environmental Protection Licence. Approvals documentation were submitted on Contract award as per the Client’s requirement.
