Project: Optus Packaging Covenant Compliance

Project Details:
SingTel Optus Pty Limited is the second largest telecommunications company in Australia. Singtel Optus have been a signatory to the National Packaging Covenant since 2005. KMH continue to manage the compliance process by facilitating the necessary data collection and interpretation, culminating in the preparation of Annual Reports against Optus’ existing action plan.

With the introduction of the updated Australian Packaging Covenant (APC) in July 2010, KMH now assists Optus to interpret the new reporting requirements. This involves the preparation of an updated action plan every 3 years to demonstrate how Optus intends to respond to the requirements.  For the 2012 Annual Report, KMH assisted Optus conduct their first set of compliant packaging reviews against the APC Sustainable Packaging Guidelines, gathered packaging sustainability information from the majority of their suppliers and conducted site visits to review the waste management performance of their head office and distribution facilities.
