Project details:
A.I. Topper operate Gunnedah Leather Producers, a tanning facility in northern NSW.  KMH were engaged to perform an assessment of operations related to odour and effluent processes onsite.  The report contained a number of recommendations for alternate treatment processes. The client commissioned this work to set their strategic objectives for the future; proactively searching for long-term sustainable solutions to treatment and re-use of wastewater, and addressing any potential odours at this tannery site. In order to fully understand the relevant issues, KMH carried out a full site investigation, and used the information gathered to evaluate suitable emission treatment systems. This evaluation was presented to the client, with discussion of the benefits and challenges of several options for different air emissions. This summary document gave the client an improved understanding of the options available to them, allowing them to make an informed decision on the best way to proceed. The clients pursued various options as an outcome of KMH’s  options assessment.
