Project: Bathurst Regional Council Energy Audits

Project Details:
As a member of the NSW OEH Sustainability Advantage Program, KMH was commissioned to conduct a Level 2 Energy Audit for Bathurst Regional Council (BRCC) on the Council’s most energy intensive facilities. The facilities included a Waste Water Treatment plant, Water Filtration Plant and Library and Art Gallery. This audit was conducted as part of the Energy Saver Program under OEH’s Sustainability Advantage Program.

The Level 2 audit included an energy balance and baseline, and analyses of patterns in consumption focusing on the identification of practical recommendations for reducing energy usage and demand management. KMH determined the recommended energy efficiency initiatives to achieve annual savings of $185,000, with an average payback period of 3.4 years. In addition to this further work was engaged to develop business cases for installing a large-scale solar power system a 65kW co-generation micro turbine, solar hot water, HVAC upgrades and lighting controls.
