News - KMH to provide environmental services to Sydney Water Watermains Program Alliance
KMH Environmental will provide environmental impact assessment, approvals and environmental management services as part of the “Momentum“ consortium which has been awarded the contract to deliver the Sydney Water’s Watermains Renewal Program Alliance valued at approximately A$900 million for the potential duration of the next 7 years. The Sydney Water Watermains Program Alliance will comprise of Sydney Water, Bovis Lend Lease Australia, CLM Infrastructure, Veolia Water Network Services and be supported by KMH Environmental, Bowdens, and Parsons Brinckerhoff. This Alliance will be responsible for a significant proportion of Sydney Water’s planned capital works. A key component of the Sydney Water Watermains Program Alliance is to renew and upgrade water delivery infrastructure to ensure the network continues to support more than 4 million people in Sydney, Illawarra and the Blue Mountains. The utilisation of innovative trenchless technologies is a feature of this program of work. KMH's team of environmental and approvals professionals will be part of the integrated program team that will be responsible for delivering all aspects of the Watermains Program Alliance including design, investigation, planning, modelling, design, environmental impact assessment and approvals, communications, construction and commissioning. The Sydney Water Watermains Program Alliance builds on the success of the $420 million Networks Alliance program which also included KMH Environmental. Networks Alliance commenced in 2005 and is currently in its final year. To date Networks Alliance has completed works at approximately 2,100 sites in the greater Sydney region.
