KMH facilitates NSW & Vic Waste Procurement Seminars
KMH Environmental recently facilitated 2 successful Waste Procurement Seminar’s in Sydney and Melbourne.
The New South Wales (NSW) seminar, held on 14 March 2012, was run with partners; Henry Davis York, KPMG and the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA). The Seminar provided great insight into the complex and multi-faceted waste infrastructure procurement process to the 22 NSW Local Councils present.
The Victorian (Vic) seminar, held 31 May 2012, was facilitated along with partners, Minter Ellison Lawyers, Ernst & Young and the Metropolitan Waste Management Group (MWMG). The 30 Victorian Local Councils present gained practical insight on how to successfully procure waste management infrastructure.
Attendees at both seminars were taken through the process of managing potential risks encountered during the course of the waste infrastructure procurement process, particularly in regards to:
- the chosen waste management technology
- the changing legal and regulatory context
- financial management through the projects entirety
- possible ‘real world’ hurdles
