Energy Efficiency Auditing & Management

Smart energy management is critical to reducing cost and risk and gaining significant operational and environmental efficiency for organisations.

Energy efficiency audits represent one of the quickest ways for an organisation to reduce its operating costs, at the same time as achieving positive environmental change. KMH’s experienced energy efficiency auditors:

  • Conduct Level 1 Overview audits (±40% accuracy), Level 2 Source audits (± - 20% accuracy) and Level 3 Detailed audits (±10% accuracy) consistent with AS/NZS Standard 3598:2000 Energy Audits and the EEO energy assessment framework;
  • Review infrastructure, systems, equipment and practices on site to accurately estimate direct energy use and indirect energy users such as water and other resources;
  • Identify areas for improved energy efficiency and cost saving including tariff optimisation, equipment selection and design of process solutions;
  • Develop energy efficiency action plans that show the cost-benefit analysis of proposed recommendations including estimated payback periods;

Energy efficiency audits identify up-front costs and payback periods for energy saving opportunities. While some of these recommendations have quick pay back for business, the majority also provide long term cost savings and reduce risk.

Following on from energy efficiency audits, KMH can assist with key aspects of energy management including:

  • Determining the best options for energy efficient systems and operating strategies;
  • Determining, reviewing and meeting voluntary and obligatory energy efficiency targets;
  • Assessing potential liability under current or proposed legislation; and
  • Advising on energy efficient technologies and process improvements to significantly reduce energy use.
