Carbon Management

Carbon footprints provide an assessment of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and provides an effective metric for measuring the effectiveness of future carbon reduction initiatives. Understanding a carbon footprint and identifying easily implemented energy saving initiatives is often the first step in managing carbon at a project, site or organisational level. However KMH also assists clients in highlighting more significant opportunities to reduce their carbon exposure.

KMH’s carbon management services include:

• Determining the carbon footprint by identifying and quantifying (i.e auditing) carbon pollution from electricity and non-electricity sources including waste;
• Generating detailed recommendations for greenhouse gas emissions reduction through energy efficiency, control of air emissions, waste and transport management, system and organisational change and training;
• Performing ongoing monitoring of client’s greenhouse gas and other emissions to track client’s carbon position and inform decision making;
• Assisting clients to prepare and deliver the necessary GHG and energy reports to satisfy their voluntary and mandatory greenhouse gas emissions commitments;
• Assisting clients in determining, reviewing and meeting their voluntary and obligatory greenhouse gas emissions abatement targets;
• Developing tailored carbon strategies relating to potential opportunities and liabilities under current and proposed legislation to reduce cost and risk and maximise market opportunity; and
• Providing independent advisory services on carbon trading and carbon offsets in the context of current market regulation and future proposed changes.
