Risk Assessment
Risk assessments determine the consequence and likelihood of legislative, reputational, economic, physical and other factors that define and affect an organisation’s performance. Environmental Risk Assessments (ERA) help identify both the positive and negative interactions between your business, facility or project and the environment. Once the risks are known, strategies can be developed to refine business activities that reduce the risk and achieve better environmental outcomes.
KMH risk assessments:
- are undertaken consistent with the Australian Standard for Risk Management AS 4360:2004;
- seek to understand business needs and customise metrics where relevant to achieve greater internal understanding and acceptance;
- are undertaken as either one off exercises to baseline an organisation’s performance or as a component of a longer term strategy such as the development of an environmental management system;
- generate action plans that identify specific actions, timelines and resources needed to address risks; and
- can include ongoing monitoring and management to ensure the risk profile is regularly updated and mitigation measures are implemented.
