Due Diligence and Auditing

Due Diligence

Environmental due diligence is the assessment of environmental risks and liabilities associated with existing company assets be they entire organisations or individual operational sites.  Due diligence can also refer to investigations made prior to the acquisition or divestment of company assets.

Changing regulations that stipulate increasingly stringent environmental management obligations are often retrospective and can affect site development.  These changes require companies to routinely reassess the latent liabilities of their assets.

KMH prepares due diligence reports that identify environmental liabilities, the level of risk associated with the site, and the approximate cost of mitigating the significant risks. Surveys look into past occupancy, potential historic contamination, land-use and other site-specific details.
