KMH participates in the annual Sydney to Gong ride Print this page E-mail this page

Members of KMH participated in the November 2008 "Sydney to the Gong" bike ride. Our team took part to raise funds for people affected by multiple sclerosis, the most common disease of the central nervous system, affecting over 16,000 Australians.

The morning of the ride was a cool one for early November, with the team setting off from Sydney Park in St Peters just before 7am. The ride headed along the shores of Botany Bay, through Heathcote and along through the scenic Royal National Park. The final stretch along the coastal suburbs from Coalcliff to Wollongong afforded some stunning views for the team and provided sufficient distraction to ignore the rapidly tightening muscles.

The team, who raised over $1,600, consisted of 7 staff along with 13 partners and friends. All members of the team crossed the finish line safely and in good spirits.

The MS Society aims to minimise the impact of multiple sclerosis on all individuals affected by the disease, their families, carers and the community by offering a wide range of assistance, services and equipment.

The MS Society’s goal is to assist (or enable) everyone affected by MS to live life to their full potential and secure the care and support they need, until we ultimately find a cure.
