On 7 November, KMH staff and partners participated in the 2010 MS Sydney to the Gong bike ride. Our team comprised of 11 riders and some amazing supporters who organised food and drinks when the team arrived in Wollongong in addition to the arraning our transport home! Our team took part in the ride to raise funds for people affected by multiple sclerosis the most common disease of the central nervous system, affecting over 16,000 Australians.

Despite constant rain for the week prior to the race, the weather was sunny and cool – perfect for riding. The ride headed along the shores of Botany Bay, through Heathcote and along through the scenic Royal National Park. The final stretch along the coastal suburbs from Coalcliff to Wollongong afforded some stunning views for the team and provided sufficient distraction to ignore the rapidly tightening muscles.

The KMH team raised over $2,694 for the very worthy cause of multiple sclerosis.

Did you know?

  • The average diagnosis of MS is 30 years old
  • 5 people are diagnosed with MS every working day

The MS Society aims to minimise the impact of multiple sclerosis on all individuals affected by the disease, their families, carers and the community by offering a wide range of assistance, services and equipment.

The MS Society’s goal is to assist (or enable) everyone affected by MS to live life to their full potential and secure the care and support they need, until we ultimately find a cure.
