National Foods is one of Australia's largest food and beverage groups, with core activities in milk, fresh dairy foods, juice, soy beverages and specialty cheese (www.natfood.com.au) . KMH have recently undertaken a series of energy audits across National Foods sites on the back of environmental reviews undertaken across all national sites back in 2006. Detailed energy audits were conducted as part of the Energy efficiency Opportunity (EEO) program required by the Federal Governments for Australia’s top energy users. The audits use a ‘whole of system’ approach to energy management which supports collaboration on innovation and initiatives at each site. The outcome of the assessment was to identify energy use, savings, whole-of-business costs and benefits of the opportunities identified and assist reporting to senior management and boards and the Australian Government.
