Brisbane Airports Corporation (BAC) has recently engaged KMH Environmental to prepare a waste management strategy as a part of the implementation of their 2009 Master Plan. The Master Plan sets out a clear and consistent vision to transform Brisbane airport from a city airport to an Airport City. BAC has set out to realise this by adopting a proactive and sustainable approach to environmental management.

KMH Environmental will conduct a review of current waste management practices and consult with stakeholders with the view to determining performance and service improvement opportunities. KMH Environmental will use this information to forecast projected waste volumes based on increases in passenger numbers, retail outlets and office space.

The project outcome will be a tailored strategy that considers the specific activities of BAC and provides best practice management techniques for dealing with the identified waste stream.
